Lost In Space Netflix Series Review

At first, I was not going to watch this series because the trailer had failed to grab me. However, my housemate had already started to watch it and could not stop singing it’s praises. So, thanks to him, I decided to give it a go… Here’s my review:

I really like how many twists and turns took place over the course of the series. There really wasn’t a dull moment. I also loved watching the Robinson’s struggle through all the trials that came their way. (Even though, I truly believe that half of their trials were self inflicted) There was interesting family dynamic that was put on display during these trials that I enjoyed watching even though it frustrated me at times. Also, I love a bit of science and scientific calculations when watching these types of programs and Lost in Space had that in swathes.

The thing that I didn’t like about the series was Dr Smith. Normally, I love crazy, sociopathic characters like that, however, I really couldn’t understand the reasoning behind her actions. Usually, these characters are self-serving- everything they do is for themselves and only themselves. But in this case, it seemed like all her actions helped nobody, including herself. In addition, I really don’t understand why all the characters in the series continued to trust and believer her, even when they learned she was manipulative.

To conclude, I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this series and I’m really looking forward to the next one, especially given that ending.

Rating: 8/10
